In the heart of Mount Kenya, we have a tradition of modesty — we don’t count people to their exact number. Why? Because to the people of my region, providing the exact number was viewed as an act of boasting. Hence, offering an estimate was seen as a display of humility. Interestingly, the tribe comprises 10 clans, yet conventionally, it’s acknowledged to consist of only 9 clans.
So, to my 10 followers, I give you the 9 full treatment!
